Allyson Funk is head of U.S. communications and public affairs for UCB, leading an award-winning team to highlight UCB’s commitment to delivering what patients value through strategic public affairs activities, media relations, community engagement, internal communications, and storytelling.
Allyson joined UCB from the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) in Washington, D.C. where she led public affairs and communications strategies for federal policy and advocacy priorities including Medicare, Medicaid, and the Affordable Care Act. Prior to PhRMA, she led media relations for health issues at AARP where she launched a campaign with The Ad Council on family caregiving. Allyson also spent time at a boutique PR firm in Washington, D.C., in the office of the Governor of Louisiana, and on multiple political campaigns. Outside of UCB, Ally serves on the Georgia Bio Ed Institute Board of Advisors and volunteers as a member of the Junior League of Atlanta. She is a past president of the Louisiana State Society in Washington, D.C. Allyson holds a master’s degree from Georgetown University (Washington, D.C.) and a bachelor’s degree from Tulane University (New Orleans, La.) She and her husband live in Atlanta with their rescue dog. |
