David Butler was named Senior Vice President, Digital Operations of Bonnier Corp. in June 2018. Bonnier Corp. is one of the largest special-interest publishers in the United States with more than 30 multichannel brands extending into all platforms including digital media, books, events, product licensing, and more.
David joined Bonnier Corp. in April 2012 as Digital Director of its Travel brands, and was promoted to Digital Director of the Active Interest Network five months later. In April 2013, he was promoted to Vice President, Digital Operations.
As SVP, David is responsible for the processes and infrastructure that enable Bonnier’s 30-plus brands -- including Popular Science, Field & Stream, Cycle World, and Saveur -- to serve and grow their digital audiences.
David oversees all functions associated with the company's core website CMS, digital subscriptions, emerging digital ad units, new content syndication partnerships, and other revenue-supporting activities. He also manages site development, digital ad trafficking, centralized content publishing, SEO optimization, social media best practices, and all consumer-facing platform management.
Prior to joining Bonnier, David played significant roles in digital product development with The New York Times Company, St. Petersburg Times and Congressional Quarterly.
David earned a B.A. degree from Lehigh University and an M.B.A. from the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg. He is also a Project Management Professional (PMP) and Agile Practitioner (PMI-ACP). David lives in Winter Park, Florida, with his wife, Julie.
