Jim Clayton is a project manager at General Dynamics Information Technology, with four years of experience initiating and running contracts in both Veterans Health Administration and Veterans Benefits Administration. His management ensured successful wins, effective delivery and excellent customer service. He assumed the additional responsibility of running the VA Account Program Management Office and standardized reporting and briefings. Mr. Clayton also established the Intake, Conversion and Mail Handling Services Program Management Office. He and his team standardized, improved and managed the onboarding of 1,800 plus ICMHS employees. He advises colleagues and sub-contractors on streamlining their onboarding operations. He analyzes and manages processes on site at our scanning facilities.
Mr. Clayton retired from the Veterans Benefits Administration in May 2015 after 33 years of government service. He served as a Special Assistant and confidential advisor to the Principal Deputy Under Secretary for Benefits providing organizational and workload knowledge and advice. He provided thought leadership on new projects and reorganizations; developed contract requirements; advised on Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE); and Strategic Planning. He also served as Acting Deputy Chief of Staff managing VBA’s SES hiring plan, developing reorganization alternatives and writing responses to Congressional inquiries. Finally, he served as Acting Executive Assistant to the Under Secretary for Benefits as a technical expert, analyst and advisor. |
