Martha has more than 30 years of strategic communications and fundraising experience in non-profit, corporate and agency environments. Working extensively with cultural nonprofit organizations related to science and conservation, she has successfully led and participated in campaigns and events that raised money and positive awareness for issues and organizations.
She began her career in public relations, worked in media promotions and moved into fundraising via government relations. Much of her early career was in Chicago, where she served as a vice president for a mid-sized national public relations firm in addition to working for several cultural attractions including The Adler Planetarium, Shedd Aquarium and Chicago Zoological Society’s Brookfield Zoo. She also taught public relations at Columbia College Chicago. She is a past president of the Southwest Florida Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and past-president of the Charitable Gift Planners of Southwest Florida. |
