Mr. Burkett is CEO of Burkett Asset Mgmt., a Tampa based holding company that operates companies that specialize in the consumer service's industry.
Since 2013, he has served as Chairman of Troop Rewards. A Tampa based non-profit that helps reconnect deployed service members with their families after overseas deployments. He was recently appointed as MacDill AFB's Honorary Command Chief for a two-year term from October 2017 to October 2019 He serves on Advisory Boards for two other military charities, Post 911 Veterans and VETPAW - Veterans Empowered to Protect African Wildlife. He was also appointed and served as a Honorary Commander at MacDill AFB from September 2015 to October 2017 In November 2016, Mr. Burkett was a proud recipient of the Tampa Bay Lightning Community Hero award and a grant of $50,000 for his charity work and community service through Troop Rewards, a charity he founded in 2009. In April 2016, Mr. Burkett was awarded the "Spirit of Humanity Award" from the DeBartolo Family Foundation and a grant of $25,000. In November 2014, Mr. Burkett received a Congressional Commendation on the floor of the US House of Representatives for his work in support of active military families by US Congressman David Jolly. |
